Senator Lummis Expects Senate Vote on CLARITY Act Before August Recess This Week

According to Senator Cynthia Lummis on Wednesday, the Senate is expected to vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act before the chamber breaks for its month-long August recess in the coming days. Lummis, a Wyoming lawmaker and prominent cryptocurrency bill advocate, stated on X that it is time to put lawmakers on record regarding the legislation. The CLARITY Act, which passed the House in July 2025 with a 294-to-134 vote, still faces opposition from Democrats seeking stronger ethics provisions and at least one Republican senator. The bill requires 60 votes to invoke cloture and advance through the Senate. Senate Majority Leader John Thune is reportedly planning to schedule a vote before Saturday, with the Senate set to enter month-long recess after Friday.
