Houthis Launch Missile Strikes on Two Saudi Oil Tankers in Red Sea on August 5

According to Houthi statements on August 5, the group launched missile strikes against two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea region, claiming direct hits that forced one vessel to return. The first attack targeted a tanker in the Gulf of Aden; the second struck a vessel near Yanbu port.

The Houthis said the strikes were part of their maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia, implementing a "blockade for blockade" policy. The group vowed to continue monitoring all Saudi tankers and prevent their passage through Red Sea shipping lanes until the blockade is lifted. Saudi Arabia has not confirmed the incidents.
