China Opposes U.S. Import Ban on Optical Transceivers, Tariffs on Polysilicon

China's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Lin Jian said today that Beijing will firmly defend the legitimate rights of Chinese enterprises against U.S. measures to ban imports of Chinese optical transceiver modules and impose tariffs plus price floors on polysilicon products. Lin stated that China opposes Washington's broad application of national security concepts and rejects protectionist policies that harm bilateral business relations and hurt American companies and consumers alike.
