Taiwan Requires Crypto Platforms to Implement Travel Rule for Domestic Transfers from October

According to Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission on Tuesday, the regulator plans to require crypto platforms to transmit customer information on all domestic platform-to-platform transfers starting in October. Transfers exceeding 30,000 New Taiwan dollars (about $930) will trigger additional data requirements, including sender's date of birth and residential address for individuals, or official identification number and registered address for corporate entities. Receiving platforms must compare beneficiary information with their own records. The FSC plans to extend the framework to cross-border transfers by the end of 2027.
