Tiger Alternative CEO Faces Retaliatory Dismissal After Reporting Internal Violations to Regulators

According to Asia Economy, on August 5, Tiger Alternative Investment Management CEO Kim Yong-hoon faced retaliatory dismissal after reporting internal compliance violations to South Korean financial authorities. The company's 50% shareholder, Tiger Asset Management, moved to remove Kim and reinstate a former executive who had been fired for unauthorized use of the company seal on over 500 documents and improper concurrent positions violating conflict-of-interest rules.

Kim had self-reported the violations to the Financial Supervisory Service in late July, requesting investigation. However, before regulators could begin their inquiry, the majority shareholder initiated the dismissal. The FSS stated it would proceed cautiously due to potential management disputes, making it unclear when formal investigation would commence.
