CME Precious Metals Volumes Surge on August 4; WTI Crude Oil Trading Activity Up but Open Interest Falls

According to CME data reported by Jin10 Futures, on August 4, precious metals and energy futures showed divergent performance. Gold trading volume reached 136,835 contracts with 372,182 open interest contracts, up 26,550 and 4,792 respectively from the prior session. Silver volume rose to 50,787 contracts with 111,908 open interest, increasing 13,079 and 860 contracts. Copper volume climbed to 76,572 contracts with 288,984 open interest, up 10,970 and 8,215 contracts.

WTI crude oil trading volume surged by 278,276 contracts to 1,102,980, yet open interest declined by 10,578 to 1,887,038. Brent crude volume jumped 94,275 contracts to 266,734, with open interest falling 28,583 to 218,953. Natural gas volume increased 101,572 contracts to 379,766 with 1,705,912 open interest.
