Theo is a full-stack platform that connects on-chain capital with global financial markets, building infrastructure for a new type of financial system: enabling anyone, anywhere to access high-quality assets. The project raised $20 million this year to accelerate bringing high-quality real-world assets (RWA) on-chain, with its core product thBILL being a basket of institutional-grade tokenized U.S. Treasury bills.
Theo is an all-in-one platform that connects on-chain capital with global financial markets. Theo is building the infrastructure for a new type of financial system: one that allows anyone, anywhere to access high-quality assets. In today's world, transferring funds globally is instantaneous, but the opportunity to flexibly enter global markets is still constrained by institutional barriers and legacy systems. We believe this must continue to evolve.
Theo bridges this gap by bringing high-quality real-world assets on-chain in a way that is truly attractive to both retail and institutional investors. At Theo, we believe that issuance is only the first step in tokenization. For tokenized products to achieve true adoption, there must be a vibrant on-chain ecosystem that powers deep trading liquidity, efficient lending, and open composability.
To this end, our experience in trading, finance, and cryptocurrencies has laid the foundation for our RWA guiding the ecosystem on the chain. This means that all Theo products have liquidity across the DeFi space. Earlier this year, we announced raising $20 million to accelerate our vision. These resources are driving us to launch our first tokenized asset product, as well as expanding our asset management partnerships and the continued development of our on-chain infrastructure.
Theo is led by a team with a strong foundation in trading, finance, and cryptocurrency. Our team consists of former market makers, hedge fund quantitative analysts, and engineers who have built and operated systems that handle billions in daily trading volume. We understand how the market operates at scale and are applying this experience to build the next generation of on-chain financial infrastructure. We are unlocking stable and transparent opportunities that were once limited to institutional investors. Theo aims to provide institutional-grade performance and security while allowing anyone at any price point to access these products.
Theo's Three Core Value Propositions:
Democratization of Assets: Opening institutional-grade assets to retail investors, breaking down traditional financial barriers to entry.
Complete Ecosystem: Not only issuing tokenized assets but also building deep liquidity, lending, and composability.
Institutional Grade Foundation: The team comes from top-tier market makers and hedge funds, having handled billions in trading volume.
thBILL is a basket of institutional-grade tokenized U.S. Treasury bills, such as tULTRA. The underlying tokenized assets are issued by regulated issuers like FundBridge. thBILL provides a crypto-native approach to achieving risk-free returns that can be combined with other DeFi primitives. thBILL serves as a foundational yield component in the Theo ecosystem, optimized to deliver consistent performance across all market conditions.
At launch, thBILL only included tULTRA, which is a packaging representative of the best-in-class tokenized treasury bills operated in partnership with Standard Chartered Bank's Libeara, Wellington Management, and FundBridge. As regulators issue more tokenized U.S. Treasury bills, they will be added to the thBill basket—diversifying it further and making it the most powerful on-chain portal for treasury bill exposure.
The specific structure of tULTRA is as follows: Delta Wellington Ultra Short-Term Government Bond On-Chain Fund, composed of ultra-short-term U.S. government bonds, repos, and cash reserves, with an expected return of 4-5% per year. The fund manager is FundBridge Capital, the investment manager is Wellington Management, the custodian is Standard Chartered Bank, the tokenization provider is Libeara (SC Ventures), the regulatory authority is the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and the legal structure is a Singapore unit trust fund.
The advantage of this structure lies in the multiple regulatory safeguards. Standard Chartered Bank is one of the world's leading international banks, Wellington Management is a top asset management company managing over $1 trillion in assets, and FundBridge is a fund management company regulated by the MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore). This multi-tiered institutional endorsement provides thBILL with extremely high credibility and security.
thBILL is non-variable, which means that its value will increase over time as interest accrues. This design is similar to Compound's cToken or Aave's aToken, where the number of tokens remains unchanged but the value increases. thBILL can be bought and sold in third-party marketplaces and is usable on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, and HyperEVM. To bridge thBILL across supported ecosystems, please use StarGate Finance.

Theo's token architecture utilizes two custom smart contract standards: tToken represents a single product and complies with ERC4626 to achieve seamless DeFi integration; iToken acts as an index for multiple tTokens and/or other iTokens. This dual-standard architecture design embodies several key principles.
In terms of transparent on-chain ownership, each vault issues receipts compliant with ERC-20, transparently mapping the token holdings to the underlying RWA, ensuring ownership is clear and verifiable. In terms of composable DeFi integration, leveraging the ERC-4626 standard ensures direct interoperability with the existing DeFi ecosystem (including DEXs, yield protocols, and money markets). In terms of institutional-grade security and control, built-in roles, pausable mechanisms, and upgradeable features have undergone rigorous audits to provide a secure environment suitable for institutional participation. In terms of simplified user experience, the system features configurable optimistic minting capabilities that significantly reduce the delay in minting tokens, especially for low-volatility RWAs.
tToken acts as a vault holding a single tokenized product or RWA, represented by receipt tokens prefixed with "t" (e.g., tULTRA). Each tToken vault maintains transparency, security, and efficient handling of assets, including pending transactions. The standard is ERC-4626 (upgradable), and the sidechain includes whitelisted RWA tokens (e.g., ULTRA stocks), with the exchange rate being totalAssets / totalSupply.
The optimistic minting process accelerates the minting procedure, allowing users to obtain liquidity immediately while waiting for the final on-chain settlement. Users submit minting orders (including USDC and license signatures) to Theo's minting service, and Theo's MPC (Multi-Party Computation) system transfers USDC to the RWA issuer, initiating the minting process. tTokens are minted instantly, reflecting as pending assets in the contract. After the issuer settles, the pending assets will be resolved into actual on-chain assets, completing the transaction.

iToken acts as an index for multiple tTokens and/or other iTokens, using the ERC20 standard, with pricing calculated on-chain using oracle data for each supported asset, ensuring consistently accurate valuations.
Technical Advantages of the Theo Token Architecture:
ERC-4626 compatible: Seamless integration with existing DeFi protocols, no additional adaptation required.
Optimistic Minting: Instant liquidity without waiting for the full settlement process.
Multi-layer security: 3/5 cold wallet multi-signature, 2/4 emergency pause mechanism, institutional-level risk control
Cross-chain interoperability: Supports the four major mainstream chains, achieving seamless bridging through StarGate.
The Theo × Kaito event is a two-month joint activity between Theo and Kaito, aimed at rewarding community participation and high-quality contributions to Kaito. The event consists of two different components: the monthly pool rewards measured by Kaito's Theo mind share, with a total reward of 100,000 thBILL; and the thBULL Takeover reward, which provides mind share while using Theo products, rewarding 0.05% of the token supply.
The monthly pool activity starts on October 13th, determining 100 yappers every two months: the top 50 from the global Theo leaderboard and the top 25 from the KR and CN Theo leaderboards, with a total of 50,000 thBILL distributed among them on average. The rewards have been fully unlocked (no attribution). The event emphasizes continuous participation and content contribution over the two-month period.
thBULL Takeover event rewards Theo users, with rankings determined by a weighted composite formula that includes: Theo points, Theo mental share measured by Kaito, Kaito staking, Theo social following, and participation. Only users with at least 100 Theo points are eligible. The scoring formula is not public but aims to emphasize high-quality participation and long-term ecosystem involvement.
Kaito measures Theo's mind share by looking at the verified organic user engagement and content quality. The score is automatically calculated by Kaito based on user activity, weighted by engagement metrics (likes, replies, consistency), and verified through Kaito's internal reputation system. This community incentive mechanism aims to build an active user community, laying the groundwork for the long-term development of the Theo ecosystem.
Theo is not limited to issuance; it also powers the on-chain ecosystem. The ecosystem of tokenized products requires deep liquidity (Theo ensures the liquidity of tokenized assets by guiding first-hand liquidity and collaborating with leading market makers), efficient lending (tokenized assets are designed with leverage and capital efficiency in mind, with native support for on-chain lending protocols and exchange collateral), and composability (Theo assets can be combined with on-chain protocols, opening up possibilities for on-chain structured products, asset control, and more).
From a market positioning perspective, Theo is a decentralized trading infrastructure platform that democratizes institutional-level trading strategies for retail and institutional investors. By leveraging a low-latency settlement network, Theo can execute seamlessly across major trading venues, maintain self-custodied margin requirements, and provide finality for the next block. Users can deposit assets into vaults tied to specific strategies, gaining investment opportunities in advanced trading strategies such as arbitrage, hedging, and cross-chain funding rate optimization.
With the strengthening of market confidence, BNB Alpha will launch the APRO token on October 24.
Theo is a full-stack platform connecting on-chain capital with global financial markets. Its main product is the tokenized U.S. Treasury bills thBILL, offering an annualized return of 4-5%, endorsed by institutions such as Standard Chartered Bank and Wellington Management, supporting Ethereum and three other chains.
The yield of thBILL comes from the interest of underlying U.S. Treasury bills, managed by FundBridge and Wellington Management, custodied by Standard Chartered Bank, and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, with an expected annualized return of 4-5%.
Theo provides advantages that traditional ETFs cannot offer, such as 24/7 trading, instant settlement, composability (usable for DeFi lending collateral), and cross-chain interoperability, but requires knowledge of crypto wallets and on-chain operations.
Theo uses a 3/5 multi-signature cold wallet and a 2/4 emergency pause mechanism. The underlying assets are custodied by Standard Chartered Bank and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). The smart contracts have been audited, achieving institutional-grade security.
