Ocean Protocol withdraws from the AI token alliance with Fetch.ai and SingularityNET

Ocean Protocol Foundation announced its withdrawal from the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI) and the removal of its directors, effective immediately. ASI, established in March 2024 by Fetch.ai, SingularityNET, and Ocean Protocol, merges the tokens AGIX and OCEAN into Fetch.ai's FET, and then rebranded as ASI without creating a new smart contract.

The goal is to synchronize the token economy, gather resources, and build decentralized AI infrastructure, while participation is voluntary. In September 2024, CUDOS will join, contributing decentralized computing power. Over the past year, Ocean has collaborated on technology, events, and community, but now wants to independently fund, flexibly manage the token economy, and reduce OCEAN supply. About 81% of OCEAN has been converted to FET, while the remaining part is still traded on major exchanges. ASI confirms that the withdrawal does not affect core technology, emphasizing that collaboration and decentralized AI development will continue.
