US senior diplomat Rubio discussed the Israel-Iran war with his foreign minister.

According to Gate News bot, Reuters reported that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy on Thursday and spoke separately with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, and Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani to discuss the war between U.S. ally Israel and its regional adversary Iran.

The U.S. State Department stated that Rubio and foreign ministers from various countries unanimously believe that "Iran must never develop or acquire nuclear weapons." Rami also expressed the same view on X, adding that the situation in the Middle East "remains dangerous," and there is a window for a diplomatic solution in the next two weeks.

The air battle between Iran and Israel began on June 13 when Israel attacked Iran, which raised alarms in the region. Since Israel launched a military strike on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, the situation in the region has been tense. The White House stated on Thursday that President Donald Trump will decide within the next two weeks whether the United States will intervene in this war. Trump's plans have been in limbo, as he has neither proposed a quick diplomatic resolution nor hinted that Washington might join the fight on Israel's side. The White House said later on Thursday that Trump will attend a National Security Council meeting on Friday morning.
