Many parents of the current 95/00s generation find it difficult to understand the challenges their children face in their growth and development. Many of them find it hard to understand why their excellent children, who have attended university and graduate school, cannot find good jobs.
In their eyes, the couple worked hard all their lives, and finally sent their children to college and graduate school, spending a lot of time and money to educate their children
The child also grows up smoothly and healthily, with more knowledge, more culture, and more experience of the world than oneself. In all aspects, his ability is also good, he is a very excellent young person.
According to their expectations, after their children graduate from college/graduate school, they should be able to find a high-paying, stable, well-benefited, and decent job, support themselves, live a happy life, and support their families financially. As parents, they would then have completed the task of raising their children to adulthood, and can then earn their own retirement money and prepare for a happy old age.
After all, 20 or 30 years ago, the economy was developing rapidly, and job opportunities were increasing rapidly. The number of positions requiring high-end talent also increased dramatically, but the number of talents with higher education was scarce.
Not only college students, masters, and doctors are in high demand everywhere, even vocational school graduates may be able to find jobs. Even people who graduate from junior college can get stable government jobs, and they may even get a house. Among their peers, many of those who found good jobs after studying have now become leaders and have successfully led their families to leap forward through education.
In the 80s, 90s, and 00s, there were many people who changed their destinies through hard work and going to college, so naturally, their parents believed that their children could also achieve a good life through this path.
So they work hard to send their children to school from an early age, hoping that after their children graduate from university, they can also lead the family to a happy life, just like those they have seen who have made great strides through education.
So, they really don't understand why the excellent college students/graduates they have spent so many years, so much money, and so much effort to cultivate cannot find good jobs after graduation, or cannot enter the system after graduation.
So it is considered that the child has high aspirations but low ability, avoids society, does not work hard during university, and is not actively seeking employment or taking civil service exams.
However, after 20 or 30 years, the environment has really changed.
After the expansion and development of colleges and universities for twenty or thirty years, there are many more university undergraduates and postgraduates among young people than twenty years ago, and the number has risen sharply. However, the high-quality and high-end employment positions and positions matching university undergraduates and postgraduates have not increased at the same rate, and they are already very saturated.
Nowadays, young people are actually working very hard and are very tired. It's just that there are too many competitors and the competition is too strong. There are only a few high-quality positions, and they need to be selected from the best of the best.
For most college students from ordinary families, it is very difficult to rely solely on their own efforts to study hard, go to university, and then apply for good jobs that meet their employment expectations, if their parents have no connections or resources. They can only choose to drop their employment expectations and achieve downward compatibility.
The child is not wrong, the parents are not wrong, it's just bad luck to encounter such an environment, really helpless, individuals are powerless in the face of the great tide of the times.
