Movement Labs is a blockchain development team established in 2022, focusing on promoting the Move programming language and building an efficient and secure blockchain ecosystem. The team is dedicated to enhancing the security and execution efficiency of blockchain smart contracts by developing core products such as Movement SDK, MoveVM, M2 Layer 2 solution, and Fractal, and achieving seamless interoperability with the Ethereum ecosystem.

What is Movement Labs?

Movement Labs is a blockchain development team established in 2022, dedicated to promoting the application of the Move programming language and building a high-performance and secure blockchain ecosystem. The mission of Movement Labs is to enhance the security and execution efficiency of blockchain smart contracts by introducing the Move programming language and achieve seamless interoperability with the Ethereum ecosystem.

Fundraising and Partnerships

Since its inception, Movement Labs has successfully raised over 38 million US dollars in funding, with investors including Polychain Capital, Binance Labs, Hack VC, Placeholder, OKX Ventures, and Archetype, among other well-known institutions. In addition, Movement Labs has launched the ‘Move Collective’ accelerator program to support and nurture projects based on Move, further driving the development of the ecosystem.

Web3’s new venture capital fund

Gate Ventures announced in October 2024 on X (formerly Twitter) that it has partnered with Movement Labs and Boon Ventures to establish a new startup fund focused on Web3, with a total amount of up to 20 million US dollars. The core goal of the fund is to support projects developed based on the Move programming language and enhance their interoperability with the Ethereum EVM. In the future, the fund will also focus on the development of DeFi, GameFi, NFT fields, and the development of multiple cross-chain applications. On the other hand, Movement Labs announced that startups supported by the fund will have the opportunity to participate in mentorship programs, hackathons, and apply for research funding focused on blockchain interoperability.

Origin and advantages of the Move programming language

Move was initially developed by Meta (formerly Facebook) as part of its blockchain project Libra (later renamed Diem). Although the Diem project ultimately did not succeed, the Move programming language distinguished itself in the blockchain space with its unique features. Compared to traditional smart contract languages such as Solidity, Move offers higher security and scalability. Its resource-oriented design ensures the uniqueness and integrity of assets, fundamentally reducing common smart contract vulnerabilities, such as reentrancy attacks.

(Note: The fundamental issue of reentrancy vulnerability lies in calling a specific interface of the target contract after executing the transfer, and the change in the account book after calling the target contract bypasses the check, that is, it does not strictly follow the check-act-interact mode design.)

The core products and technologies of Movement Labs

In order to promote the Move programming language and improve the performance of blockchain, Movement Labs has developed a series of core products and technologies:

  • Movement SDK: This is a modular framework designed to help developers build and deploy Move-based infrastructure, applications, and blockchains in various distributed environments.

  • MoveVM: A virtual machine based on the Move programming language, optimized for secure and efficient execution of smart contracts.

  • M2 Layer 2 Solution: This is the first Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain based on MoveVM, utilizing zero-knowledge proof technology (ZK-rollup) to achieve high throughput and enhanced security.

  • Fractal: an EVM interpreter that allows developers to convert traditional Solidity code into the MoveVM environment, thus achieving compatibility with existing DApps.

The future outlook of Movement Labs

As blockchain technology continues to develop, security and scalability have become key issues. Movement Labs is dedicated to addressing these challenges by promoting the Move programming language, providing developers with safer and more efficient tools and platforms. In the future, as more applications and infrastructure based on Move emerge, Movement Labs is expected to play a more significant role in the blockchain field, driving innovation and development across the industry.

Summary

As a pioneer in promoting the Move programming language, Movement Labs is committed to improving the security and performance of blockchain through its innovative products and technology. With strong financial support and assistance from partners, Movement Labs is accelerating the development of the Move-based ecosystem, laying a solid foundation for the future development of blockchain technology.

AI-Native Settlement Layers: How United Stables Is Building the Next Financial Rail

Stablecoins were originally designed as dollar substitutes within exchanges, primarily used for asset pricing and trade settlement. As on-chain financial ecosystems have matured, their role has expanded beyond simple payments to include collateral assets, cross-chain liquidity mediums, and unified settlement units. In particular, as AI systems and automated agents begin to participate directly in economic activity, demand has risen sharply for programmable value units capable of instant settlement. This shift is pushing stablecoins toward the role of foundational financial infrastructure.

The ve(3,3) Flywheel Explained: How AERO Tokenomics Powers Aerodrome’s DeFi Economy

In the competition for DeFi liquidity, high-inflation mining alone is no longer enough to build lasting advantages. Aerodrome applies the ve(3,3) economic model to redesign token emissions, voting mechanisms, and revenue distribution, creating a liquidity flywheel centered on governance and cash flow. This article examines AERO tokenomics, the veAERO locking mechanism, and protocol revenue models to explain how Aerodrome builds a sustainable DeFi economic system.

How Does PAXG Work? In-Depth Overview of the Physical Gold Tokenization Mechanism

PAXG (Pax Gold) is a tokenized asset backed by physical gold, issued by the fintech company Paxos and traded on the Ethereum blockchain as an ERC-20 token. The core concept is to tokenize physical gold on-chain, with each PAXG token representing ownership of a certain amount of gold. This structure enables investors to hold and trade gold in the form of a digital asset.

Aerodrome Tokenomics: How ve(3,3) Powers Base's Most Profitable DEX

AERO is the native token of Aerodrome Finance, a core decentralized exchange and liquidity protocol in the Base ecosystem. It is primarily used for liquidity incentives and ecosystem operations. veAERO is a governance NFT that users receive by locking AERO, representing both voting power and the right to share protocol revenue. Through a dual track structure of AERO as a utility token and veAERO as a governance credential, Aerodrome separates liquidity usage value from long term governance power, allowing participants to act as liquidity providers, governance decision makers, and revenue sharers within the same system.

How is the price of PAXG determined? Pegging mechanism, trading depth, and influencing factors

PAXG (Pax Gold) is a tokenized asset backed by physical gold reserves, launched by fintech firm Paxos and issued as an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain. The core concept is to digitally represent real-world gold assets, allowing investors to hold and trade gold via the blockchain network. Because each PAXG token corresponds to a specific quantity of physical gold, its price is theoretically expected to closely track the global gold market.

Hybrid Collateral Stablecoins: Inside United Stables' Stability and Yield Architecture

In the early stages of the crypto market, traditional stablecoins mainly relied on single-reserve or single-collateral models. Their primary focus was price stability and payment convenience, which allowed them to become foundational tools for on-chain trading and capital flows. As the market has entered a more mature financial phase, however, this structure has begun to reveal limitations, including high concentration risk and the difficulty of balancing liquidity with yield. These constraints have driven the evolution toward multi-layer collateral and portfolio-based designs, such as the dual-layer hybrid collateral architecture proposed by United Stables, which seeks to redefine the underlying logic of stable assets.
