As of the latest August 2026 data, more than 3.56 million BTC has remained unmoved for over a decade, representing roughly 17.7% of Bitcoin’s circulating supply. That is nearly one out of every six BTC already mined sitting in an extremely long-term dormant category.
This is not simply a statistic about old wallets. It highlights how much of Bitcoin’s theoretical supply may not actually participate in everyday market liquidity.
