P2P Merchant Protection Program: Report Non-Compliant Counterparties to Build a Safer Trading Environment

To further maintain platform order and enhance the safety and fairness of the P2P trading environment, we are officially launching the Merchant Protection Program . We encourage all merchants to actively report violations and work together to build a more transparent and trustworthy trading ecosystem.

During the campaign, merchants may report violations committed by users or other merchants. Once a report is verified by the platform, appropriate actions will be taken against the violating party in accordance with applicable rules.

I. Reporting Rewards

For each valid report verified by the platform, the reporter may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to 100 USDT.

Reports will be reviewed within five business days from the date of submission. Rewards will be credited to the reporter’s account within seven business days after the report is confirmed.

The final reward amount will be determined by the internal review team. Please refer to the actual amount credited as the final reward.

II. Reportable Violations

Merchants may submit a report if they encounter any of the following behaviors during a transaction:

1. Order placed without payment / malicious order occupation: A user places an order but fails to complete payment for an extended period, occupying the merchant’s order resources and disrupting normal trading.
2. Incorrect payment amount: The amount paid by the user does not match the order amount.
3. Third-party payment (non-verified account): A user makes payment from an account not registered under their own verified name.
4. Use of illicit or high-risk funds: The user’s source of funds appears abnormal or exhibits high-risk characteristics, raising suspicion of money laundering.
5. Submission of falsified evidence: A user forges or alters payment screenshots, transaction records, or other supporting materials to commit fraud.
6. Harassment or abusive language: A user engages in harassment, threats, or abusive language during communication, resulting in a negative trading experience.
7. Malicious price deviation by merchants: Listed prices significantly deviate from market levels, disrupting trading order or misleading users into placing orders.
8. Improper fee-based promises by merchants: Charging users under claims such as “paying a deposit/service fee and I will help you become a merchant.”
9. Inducing off-platform transactions: Encouraging users via chat or other means to transfer funds outside the platform to bypass platform supervision.
10. Inducing downloads of third-party applications: Requiring users to download non-official chat tools or unknown applications, posing potential security risks.
11. Inducing multiple account registrations for commission: Privately encouraging users to register multiple accounts to obtain rebates or other improper benefits.

III. Reporting Evidence and Process

To report a violation by a user or another merchant, please go to the order details page, select “Encountered an Issue” → “Report the Counterparty,” and upload the required information and materials.

Reports must include truthful and complete supporting evidence, including but not limited to:

1. Full screen recordings or screenshots of chat history
2. Complete order details
3. Transaction screenshots

The platform will review and verify all submitted reports and will keep the reporter’s information strictly confidential. For verified violations, the platform may take actions in accordance with relevant rules, including but not limited to trading restrictions, account freezes, and revocation of merchant status.

IV. Good-Faith Reporting and Risk Notice

Good-faith reporting is essential to maintaining community order. The platform strictly prohibits any false reports based on fabricated facts or malicious targeting.

• Penalty for false reporting: If a report is found to be untrue or maliciously misleading, the platform may, depending on the severity, deduct credit points or restrict the reporter’s P2P trading privileges.
• Handling of serious violations: Gate reserves the right to permanently suspend the accounts of users who repeatedly submit malicious reports or seriously disrupt platform operations.
• Prohibition of unfair competition: Malicious reporting against peer merchants is strictly prohibited. If such behavior is identified, no reward will be granted, and the reporting party may be subject to penalties.

V. Additional Support

If you encounter order disputes or abnormal funds during a transaction, you may also initiate an appeal through official channels in addition to participating in this reporting program.

The Gate P2P Team will continue to optimize its risk control system and may adjust this reward program dynamically based on market conditions. For the same violation, the reward will be granted only to the first reporter who submits valid evidence.
