Gate Officially Launches Idle Earn: Idle Account Funds Earn Automatically

Gate officially launches Idle Earn, a new idle stablecoin yield product.
After enabling Idle Earn, the system automatically calculates eligible available balances of USDT, USDC, and other stablecoins in your account daily, allowing you to earn low-risk, principal-protected returns comparable to U.S. Treasury yields. The current APR is up to 3%. Simply enable Idle Earn once—no recurring subscriptions or lock-up is required, and your original account assets remain available for trading.

What Is Idle Earn?

Idle Earn is a stablecoin idle-fund yield service launched by Gate. After it is enabled, the system takes daily average balance snapshots of eligible USDT, USDC, and other stablecoins in your Trading Account and Futures Account, with returns automatically generated from low-risk investments based on your valid balances.
Idle Earn's underlying returns primarily come from low-risk investments such as U.S. Treasuries, money market funds, on-chain staking, and RWA. Gate assumes the risk of principal protection on behalf of users and regularly publishes transparency reports on the underlying assets. Once enabled, there is no need for daily manual subscriptions or conversions to other assets. Your original stablecoins remain in your account and can be used for trading at any time.

Select [Enable] to turn on Idle Earn.

Step 3: Earn Yield Automatically
Once enabled, no recurring subscriptions or conversions to other assets are required. The system automatically calculates the daily available balances of eligible USDT, USDC, and other stablecoins in your account, with returns generated based on your valid balances.

Step 4: Returns Are Distributed
Returns are automatically distributed to your Trading Account on T+1 day. No manual claim is required.

Snapshot and Return Rules

Idle Earn uses a daily average balance snapshot mechanism to calculate available balances of USDT, USDC, and other stablecoins in Trading Account and Futures Account.
The following assets are not included in valid balances:

• Borrowed assets;
• Assets frozen by open orders;
• Assets used as margin.

The system calculates the corresponding returns based on valid daily average balances and distributes the returns on T+1 day.

1. Where do Idle Earn returns come from?
   Idle Earn returns primarily come from low-risk investments such as U.S. Treasuries, money market funds, on-chain staking, and RWA. It does not involve high-risk quantitative strategies, high-risk on-chain products, or algorithmic stablecoins. Gate assumes the risk of principal protection on behalf of users and regularly publishes transparency reports on the underlying assets.

2. When are returns distributed?
   The daily average snapshot is taken on T day. Returns are calculated on T+1 day and automatically credited to your Trading Account. The entire process is seamless, with no manual claim required.

3. Which users can participate?
   Users who have completed individual KYC only need to enable this feature to participate. Your funds remain in your account with no subscription or lock-up required. Corporate and institutional users are not eligible.

4. What is the difference between Idle Earn and GUSD Flexible US Treasury?
   Both products primarily generate returns from low-risk assets, but they differ in how users participate. GUSD Flexible US Treasury requires users to actively subscribe and hold the product to earn returns. With Idle Earn, no subscription or conversion to other assets is required. The system automatically calculates the daily average balances of eligible stablecoins in your account and determines the corresponding returns, while your original assets remain in your account and can still be used for trading as usual.
   In the future, Gate may also consider integrating GUSD functionality into Idle Earn, consolidating daily Idle Earn snapshots and displaying them as GUSD certificates. These certificates could be used to participate in on-platform activities such as Launchpool and expand into Web3 use cases, while users do not actually convert to or hold GUSD.
