Looking at the 1-hour timeframe, Gold is displaying a clear bearish structure, having broken down from the 4,078 level and establishing a series of lower highs and lower lows. The price is currently pinned to the lower Bollinger Band (LB: 4,063.98) and trading below all three short-term WMA averages (WMA5: 4,065.74, WMA10: 4,066.53, WMA20: 4,068.62), which are fanning out downwards as dynamic resistance. Crucially, the MACD is fully submerged in negative territory with the histogram expanding to the downside (DIF -1.97, DEA -1.31), confirming strong bearish momentum. The TRIX oscillator is also flatlining in negative territory, offering no signs of an impending bullish reversal.
Trading Plan
My trading plan is to look for a continuation of this downtrend by selling on minor pullbacks. I will wait for the price to retrace toward the WMA5 (4,065.74) or the middle Bollinger Band (4,070.25) and look for a bearish rejection candle to enter a short position. My immediate downside target is the recent low at 4,064.79, with a secondary target near the 4,058 level. I will place a strict stop-loss above the WMA10 (4,066.53) or recent swing high to protect against a sudden reversal.
My primary prediction is that Gold will continue to slide lower. The combination of the price hugging the lower Bollinger Band and the expanding MACD histogram below the zero line strongly suggests that sellers are in full control. Unless there is a sudden catalyst that pushes the price back above the 4,070 middle band, any upward movement is likely just a minor retracement before the next leg down.
What trade plan I follow and why?
I am following a "Trend Continuation Pullback" plan. I choose this strategy because the market is clearly in a strong downtrend on the 1-hour chart (evident from the moving average alignment and MACD). In a strong trend, the highest probability trades are entering in the direction of the trend after a brief pause or pullback, rather than trying to guess a bottom. Selling into resistance (the moving averages) offers a better risk-to-reward ratio than chasing the price at the current low.
When I start my trade?
I will start my trade when the price retraces to the 4,066–4,068 zone and forms a rejection signal (like a bearish engulfing or a shooting star). I will not enter a short right now at the bottom of the Bollinger Band, as a snap-back bounce is possible. I will wait for the active session volatility to bring the price up to a favorable entry point.
The most prominent pattern here is a series of consecutive bearish Marubozu and long-bodied red candles (visible on the left), which signify strong selling pressure. Currently, the chart is printing small bearish candles with short lower wicks, indicating that while sellers are pushing the price down, buyers are offering only minor, ineffective support. There is no clear bullish reversal pattern (like a hammer or morning star) present yet.
Final word is Bearish. The trend is your friend, and the momentum indicators are fully aligned to the downside. Do not try to catch a falling knife by buying here. The safest play is to wait for a minor bounce toward 4,066–4,068 and short the rejection, targeting a break below the 4,064.79 support level.#StockTalkSeason
