Is Tesla a car stock or a robotics stock? I’ve noticed the market is getting better and better at telling stories!

I’ve been following Tesla (TSLA) lately, and I keep thinking there’s something special about this company. When it sells cars, people value it like an automaker; when it talks about autonomous driving, it becomes a tech stock; when robots come up, it feels like it’s about to expand into the entire universe.
What I like about Tesla is its technological foundation in electric vehicles, autonomous driving, and robotics. Autonomous driving in particular could, if commercialization progresses smoothly, open up a business model no longer limited to selling cars, but expanded to software and mobility services.
The Optimus humanoid robot is also a direction worth watching over the long term. If it can be produced at scale in the future, its potential market really is substantial.
But what worries me most is that the story is big, and delivering on it takes time. Competition in the EV industry is fierce, and price wars could squeeze margins; autonomous driving faces technical, regulatory, and safety challenges; and robotics still has a long way to go before large-scale commercial use.
My investment thesis is that I don’t dismiss Tesla’s potential, but I pay more attention to actual deliveries, gross margins, and the pace of commercialization for new businesses.
After all, a stock price can soar on dreams, but profits still have to come from running a business.
Are you buying Tesla because you believe in its cars, or betting on its robots? $SPCX
