Is a Company Worth Buying? Don’t Just Look at Its Share Price—The Real Story Comes Later!
When investing in stocks, the worst situation is seeing a share price fall like it’s on sale and getting excited as if you’ve struck gold. Then, after buying in, you realize it’s not the stock that’s cheap—it’s the market’s expectations for it!
When I’m bullish on a company, I focus on three signals first.
First, does it have real earnings power? Revenue growth is just an appetizer; profit growth and improving cash flow are the main course. If reported profits look good but operating cash flow remains weak for a long time, you should be extra cautious.
Second, does the industry have room to grow? Even an excellent company may have no room to shine if its industry has already entered its twilight years.
Third, can management be trusted? A clear strategy, strong execution, and accountability to shareholders are more valuable than constantly making big promises.
Of course, if the valuation is already outrageously high, even the best company can become a hot potato.
So I won’t chase a company just because its share price has risen, or buy the dip just because it has fallen. To find a good company, look at its fundamentals; to find a good price, look at its valuation.
Investing isn’t a 100-meter sprint—it’s an endurance race. I’d rather earn a little less than take on risk just to buy something cheap!
When choosing stocks, what matters more to you: earnings, the industry, or management?#Gate股票畅聊季 $NVDA
