November 10: A major test for global markets! BTC, U.S. stocks, or gold—which will be the biggest winner?
Come on, crypto friends, here’s a multiple-choice question for today!
U.S. October CPI is about to be released. If inflation cools significantly, which asset class do you think is most likely to attract market inflows?
A: BTC—Bitcoin kicks off a rally!
B: U.S. stocks—Nasdaq tech stocks take off again!
C: Gold—boosted by both safe-haven demand and rate-cut expectations!
D: They all rise, and we all celebrate the New Year together!😂
Of course, real markets aren’t that simple.
If CPI comes in below expectations, rate-cut expectations may rise, the dollar and Treasury yields may fall, and both risk assets and gold could benefit.
If CPI comes in above expectations, the market may once again worry that inflation is stubborn, the dollar and yields may strengthen, BTC and U.S. stocks could come under pressure, and gold may also see a short-term pullback.
There’s another possibility: the data may be good, but the market has already positioned itself in advance, and the news ultimately turns into a “sell the news” event.
So, what’s really worth watching on November 10 isn’t just the year-over-year CPI figure, but also core inflation, monthly changes, and the reaction in Treasury yields.
That’s the most interesting thing about investing: the same data can prompt completely different responses from different assets.
Tell me in the comments: are you choosing A, B, C, or D?
Let’s see whether everyone turns out to be a macro analyst or a market fortune-teller this time!#Gate股票畅聊季
