The Storage Giants Plunge Together: SanDisk Falls Hardest, Micron Is Most Diversified, SK Hynix Is Strongest? Who Is the Real Winner?
In this latest slump in the storage sector, the three companies have finally found themselves on the same starting line—though in terms of their losses.
SanDisk fell the hardest, Micron was not spared, and SK Hynix was also put on pause by the market.
If the AI industry were a super restaurant, GPUs would be the chefs, HBM the high-speed workstation beside them, DRAM would handle temporary data processing, and NAND would be the giant warehouse for storing vast amounts of information.
Without storage, even the most powerful GPUs may be left awkwardly waiting for data.
SanDisk’s strengths are NAND and enterprise SSDs. The more AI data centers prioritize high-speed data retrieval, the more room it has to shine—but the NAND industry’s cyclical volatility should not be overlooked.
Micron’s distinguishing feature is its relatively comprehensive product lineup, with exposure to DRAM, HBM, and NAND. It’s not a restaurant betting on just one dish, but one with multiple product lines.
SK Hynix, meanwhile, has a significant competitive advantage in HBM. As AI chips’ demand for high-speed memory continues to rise, its position in the industry is worth watching over the long term.
For business diversification, Micron has the edge; for HBM competitiveness, SK Hynix merits close study; for upside from a NAND recovery, SanDisk is worth watching.
But never equate industry standing with stock returns.
Even the best restaurant can leave you feeling disappointed if you buy at the most expensive table. Investing is the same. #美股AI板块遭遇重挫
