$ACT It posted an 11.84% green candle over the past 24 hours, and the sentiment gauge flashed two extreme readings: the Fear & Greed Index surged to 78 (the upper end of the greed range), while the funding rate hit +0.035% (longs are paying, and positioning is crowded). How do these readings compare with historical levels? Over the past three months, ACT’s funding rate has risen above 0.03% only twice: once in early February, when it spiked to 0.0145 before pulling back 18% over two days, and once in mid-March, on the eve of a sideways stretch. The pattern is clear: once longs push the funding rate to this level, short-term trading becomes extremely risky.
The price is now 0.0116, just 2.5% below the 24-hour high of 0.0119, but trading volume of 44M isn’t explosive. This looks like a low-volume test of the highs. My view: sentiment hasn’t peaked, but chasing longs is no longer worth the risk. A Fear & Greed reading of 78 isn’t a sell signal; it’s a signal to shift your position from “attack” to “defensive counterattack.”
Actionable plan: Coin selection—For small-cap, high-volatility assets like ACT, only buy confirmed pullbacks; don’t chase highs. Entry—Wait for a pullback into the 0.0104–0.0107 range (the first support zone above the 24-hour low of 0.0099) and scale in; keep the first entry at or below 15% of your total position. Stop-loss—Exit unconditionally if it breaks below 0.0098 (below the 24-hour low), keeping losses within -6% per trade. Take-profit—First target: 0.0128 (an extension of the previous high); take half off there. Use 0.0119 as a trailing stop for the remaining position. Position discipline—Cap your total position at 30%. If the funding rate continues to rise above 0.05%, cut your position to below 10% immediately; that’s a hard warning of overheated sentiment.
My personal rule in one line: I only reduce positions when funding is crowded, and get greedy when funding returns to zero. ACT’s funding rate isn’t at zero yet, so don’t rush.
Engagement question: Do you think ACT will find support at 0.0105 on this pullback, or wick straight down to 0.0095 to shake out traders? Post your price level in the comments, and I’ll see who gets it right.
