$MET This wick is enough to make your scalp tingle. Behind the 15% rally, the sentiment index has already surged to 78—greed is moving a little too fast.

Today’s market action can be summed up in one word: short squeeze. $MET It went straight from 0.2737 to 0.3200, with 24-hour trading volume of 17.6M. That volume is backed by real money, not a hollow pump. I took a look at the funding rate: perpetual futures have flipped positive, to around 0.03%. Longs are starting to pay shorts, which shows that traders are lining up to go long. The Fear & Greed Index jumped from 54 yesterday to 78—a 24-point leap in one day. That kind of slope is rare historically; the last similar case was on the eve of the meme season kick-off earlier this month.
But note one detail: 0.3200 is the 24-hour high, and the current price of 0.3194 is almost right at the ceiling, which means the selling pressure above hasn’t really been tested yet. A funding rate turning positive at first is a good sign—sentiment is recovering, and longs are paying—but if the rate keeps climbing above 0.05%, that signals short-term overheating, and chasing longs then can mean catching a falling knife. Historically, $MET the last time the funding rate hit 0.06% was two weeks ago, followed by an 18% pullback.
The drivers are simple: small market cap + low circulating supply + open interest in futures just starting to rise—a classic sentiment-driven rally. There’s no fundamental narrative; it’s purely a battle of capital. Coins like this rise fast and fall fast, so don’t approach them with a long-term mindset.
My suggestion: don’t chase at the current price of 0.3194. Wait for a pullback to the 0.3050-0.3080 range and buy in batches, keeping your position below 5% of your total capital. Set a stop-loss at 0.2880 (below the lower edge of the 24-hour range midpoint), with a first take-profit target of 0.3450 and a second target of 0.3600. If the funding rate climbs above 0.05% tonight, skip this trade outright and wait for sentiment to cool.
My personal niche is watching extreme sentiment readings for reversals. The funding rate has just turned positive and hasn’t hit an extreme yet, so this is a window for observation, not for taking a heavy position. Keep an eye on funding rate changes, everyone—I’ll report them right away.
