I see a 1-hour timeframe chart for HYPE/USDT on the Gate exchange, currently trading at 78.31. The price is showing a slight positive gain of +0.12% for the day, but the chart reveals a market that is currently in a consolidation phase after a significant drop from the 82.06 level.
Looking at the price action, HYPE experienced a sharp decline from the highs near 82.06 down to a low of 76.29. Since that bottom, the price has been recovering, forming a series of higher lows and higher highs. Currently, the price is sandwiched between the short-term moving averages. The MA5 (78.77) and MA10 (79.04) are acting as immediate resistance, while the MA30 (78.55) is providing dynamic support right below the current price. The MACD indicator in the bottom pane is hovering near the zero line, indicating a lack of strong momentum in either direction, though the histogram is showing slight signs of weakness (red bars). Volume appears relatively average, not showing a massive influx of buyers or sellers at this specific moment.
Trading plan.
Given the current setup, I would look for a breakout trade. The price is compressing between 78.00 and 79.00.
· Long Entry: If the price breaks and closes above the MA10 (around 79.10) with increasing volume, I would enter a long position.
· Short Entry: If the price breaks below the recent support cluster around 77.50, I would consider a short position.
· Stop Loss: For a long, place the stop below the MA30 (around 78.20). For a short, place it above 79.50.
My prediction.
I predict that the price will likely test the 79.00 resistance level in the short term. If the bulls can push through the MA10, we could see a retest of the 80.00 psychological level. However, if the rejection holds at the moving averages, the price may return to retest the 76.29 support zone. The current trend is neutral-to-bearish until we see a clear break above 79.50.
What trade plan I follow.
I will follow a "wait and see" approach. I will not enter a trade immediately at 78.31 because it is in the middle of the range. I am waiting for a 1-hour candle close above 79.10 to confirm a bullish reversal or a drop below 77.50 to confirm bearish continuation.
The recent candles are small-bodied, indicating indecision. There was a clear rejection wick at the 76.29 low, which was a bullish signal (hammer-like), leading to the current consolidation. The most recent candles are doji-like, showing the market is taking a breath before the next move.
The market is currently in a Neutral/Consolidation phase. The asset has recovered from its lows but is facing stiff resistance from the moving averages. It is a "no-trade zone" until a clear breakout occurs. Watch for a decisive close above 79.10 to go Long, or a breakdown below 78.00 to go Short.
