U.S. chip stocks suffered a broad sell-off on Thursday. Nvidia fell 9.26%, AMD plunged 17.26%, and Micron also posted a stunning decline, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index slumped more than 12%. This was no mere correction—it was practically a collective diving competition for chip stocks!
But I think it is too early to declare the golden age of the chip industry over. Long-term demand for AI training, inference, cloud computing, and data center construction remains, but the problem is that the expectations previously priced in by the market were too perfect.
When investors realize that data center construction could be affected by policy, financing costs, and project payback periods, the first stocks to be sold off are naturally those with the highest valuations and the most crowded trades.
Next, I’ll focus on two types of companies: chip leaders with technological barriers, real orders, and cash flow; and quality companies whose valuations have been adjusted but whose fundamentals have not significantly deteriorated.
Chip stocks may still offer opportunities, but don’t assume that a big drop in share price automatically means they’re cheap. Bottom-fishing isn’t about who has the most nerve, but who can do the math most accurately!#每周来晒 and #美股史诗级抛售 $AMD
