Nasdaq plunged 5.52%, Nvidia and AMD tumbled together! Is the AI sky really falling?
U.S. stocks had a terrifying night on Thursday! Nasdaq plunged 5.52%, the S&P 500 fell 4.36%, Nvidia dropped over 9%, and AMD plunged 17%! Yesterday’s AI darling stocks are now lining up for the market’s “price reckoning.” Is this short-term deleveraging, or is the AI feast starting to wind down?
I don’t think this decline can be simply understood as an ordinary correction. In the past, just hearing the keywords AI, chips, or data centers was enough for the market to want to strap a rocket engine to stocks. Now investors are finally asking: when exactly will the several hundred billion dollars spent start earning a return?
In the short term, panic selling and investors taking profits may amplify the decline; over the medium to long term, the AI industry still has room to grow, but valuations must once again stand up to scrutiny on earnings.
My view: AI isn’t dead; the market is just starting to do the math seriously. Going forward, what’s truly worth watching isn’t the company with the loudest story, but the one that can keep making money. After all, the stock market can rise on dreams, but profits ultimately have to foot the bill! #每周来晒 and #美股史诗级抛售 $AMD #
