The data doesn't add up. $ATOM The current price is 1.5170, with a 24-hour low of 1.4150 and high of 1.5380, an amplitude of 8.7%, but trading volume is only 21.9M—this price-volume relationship is off. For a gain of over 6%, a coin with ATOM's market cap should normally have trading volume above 40M. A low-volume rally could mean selling pressure has dried up, a major player is controlling the market, or liquidity is impaired. There are three possibilities: first, the short squeeze is over, 1.41 is a firm short-term bottom, and buyers are tentatively pushing the price up; second, market makers have pulled their orders, thinning the order book so a small number of buy orders can drive the price higher—this kind of rally is unsustainable; third, someone knows something in advance but isn't confident enough to enter with a large position, so volume hasn't picked up. I lean toward the first possibility, but whichever it is, signals like this only come around a few times a year, so it's worth watching.

As for strategy, I won't chase it. If I enter at 1.5170, it's hard to set a good stop-loss. I'll wait for a pullback to the 1.46-1.48 range and buy in installments, keeping the position below 5% of total capital, with a stop-loss below 1.41; if it breaks below that, I'll take the loss. The first take-profit target is 1.60, the second is 1.72; I'll sell half at 1.60. The coin selection logic is simple: only trade coins breaking out on low volume like this; coins with rising volume but stalled prices are the ones to get out of. For timing, if ATOM holds above 1.50 after the U.S. stock market opens tonight, there's likely to be another leg up during the Asian session tomorrow. If it falls below 1.45, walk away—don't average down or hold on. Remember, volume doesn't lie: 21.9M in trading volume can't support a trend; this is only suitable for short-term trading. I'm Gate Data Detective, digging up these unusual order books—keep up with the pace and don't fall behind. Signals like this only come around a few times a year. #Gate广场中秋团圆局

The rally on declining volume is indeed suspicious, but I’ll accept the title of Gate’s data detective

Sell when volume surges but price stalls; buy breakouts on declining volume. Noted

At ATOM’s market cap level, 40M+ in trading volume is expected—this is clearly abnormal
