Democratic Sweep Ignites an “AI Regulatory Nuclear Bomb”! $SOXL Triple-Leveraged ETF Gets Massacred Overnight: Is $61 an Abyss or a Golden Buying Opportunity?

The Democrats’ midterm election landslide has sparked market fears of tighter regulation on AI data centers, sending the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index plunging 3.13% against the broader market trend. SOXL’s triple-leveraged daily reset mechanism keeps “bleeding” amid volatility. With the fallout from Intel’s disastrous earnings still lingering, the self-reinforcing decline in leveraged ETFs has left bulls no room to catch their breath, with the price tumbling to the $61 mark at one point intraday.

South Korean retail investors had just poured $3 billion into buying the dip, only to get buried alive, while institutions are fleeing in droves. This time, dare you catch this bloodied falling knife? @老张说趋势 Continues to follow developments

$75.3! $SOXL Big players are sharpening their knives—is this a long liquidation or a short squeeze? Retail traders, don’t be the bagholders!

Retail traders watch price gains; big players watch the chips. Behind every sharp rally and crash are bloodied knives.

Old Zhang’s take: This is a classic move to lure in longs and squeeze shorts, not a reversal. SOXL surged 8.39% in a day, which looks impressive, but net outflows over 7 days totaled $399 million. Whales hold $156 million in short positions, while longs have substantial unrealized profits. The short liquidation wall sits at 75.1–74.7, leaving the price perched right over a powder keg.

The big players’ intent is clear: use positive news from AMD’s earnings and Changxin’s buyback to push the price into the liquidation zone, force shorts to stop out, and lure retail traders into chasing longs—then turn around and distribute at the highs.

Entry advice: Don’t chase longs; wait to short at higher levels. If momentum stalls above 76, enter short, with 72 as the initial target. The rationale: SOXL crashed 48% in October, then plunged another 11.5% on November 3. A low-volume rebound is especially vulnerable to an overnight reversal.

I’ve seen far too many people try to buy the dip during a “rebound,” only to end up catching it halfway down the mountain. A sharp rally the day after a crash is often a wave to escape on, not the start of a new uptrend. @老张说趋势 Following closely
