#PalantirRevenueJumps96%ButStockFalls
Palantir just delivered an absolutely stunning earnings report for the third quarter of 2026, yet the stock took a hit. This situation perfectly highlights a brutal reality in the current market.

Let us look at the raw numbers. Revenue hit 2.313 billion dollars, up 96 percent year over year. The US commercial business was an absolute rocket, growing 148 percent to reach 984 million dollars, while US government revenue grew 96 percent to hit 953 million dollars. They posted a GAAP net income of 1.128 billion dollars and an adjusted earnings per share of 0.44 dollars. To top it all off, they raised their full year revenue guidance to over 8.53 billion dollars and expect US commercial revenue to grow by at least 143 percent this year.

If revenue nearly doubles and guidance goes up, why is the stock falling?

The debate has clearly shifted. It is no longer about whether growth is strong enough. It is about whether the current valuation has already priced in way too much future upside.

When a company trades at an extreme multiple, perfection is already baked into the share price. The market is not just demanding fast AI growth anymore. It is demanding impossible AI growth. A 96 percent top line increase is phenomenal for almost any other business on earth. But for an AI pure play trading at a premium, investors are already looking ahead. If US commercial grew 148 percent, Wall Street might have secretly priced in 160 percent.

This is a classic valuation problem. High flying tech stocks do not move based on what just happened. They move on future expectations. When the baseline expectation is exponential growth, even a slight deviation from the hype causes panic. The bar has simply been set too high.

So, valuation is the bigger problem here. The stock has run up so aggressively on AI hype that the fundamentals are struggling to catch up to the price. Investors are demanding even faster AI growth to justify the sky high valuation. In this environment, nearly doubling your revenue is the cost of entry, not a guaranteed ticket to a higher stock price.

What do you think? Is Palantir simply a victim of its own success and sky high expectations?
