As someone who spends most of the day trading futures, I don't approach Launchpool farming by simply choosing the highest APR. I look at reward quality, token risk, capital efficiency, liquidity, and what happens after the reward token starts trading.

Because the biggest APR doesn't always mean the biggest profit.

1️⃣ Don't Let the APR Fool You

The first thing I ask is: 590% of what, and for how long?

Launchpool rewards are generally distributed from a fixed reward allocation among participating users. As more capital enters the pool, the reward per participant decreases and the displayed APR can fall rapidly.

So an APR that looks incredible during the first few hours may look completely different later.

And there is another important variable: the reward token itself.

If you earn a token at 590% APR but that token loses 50–60% of its value after listing, the headline yield means very little.

That's why I consider extremely high APRs on newly launched tokens as high-risk opportunities, not guaranteed income.

2️⃣ How I See the Three Pools

🟡 XAUT — Stability First

XAUT is the option I find easiest to understand because the underlying asset is gold-backed.

The reward profile may not be as exciting as the highest-APR pool, but the exposure is easier to evaluate. Instead of relying entirely on a brand-new token's market narrative, you're dealing with an asset connected to gold.

For me, this is the “boring but easier to value” option.

🟣 FOLD — Maximum APR, Maximum Uncertainty

FOLD is where the temptation becomes strongest.

The APR can look spectacular, but so does the risk. A new reward token has no established trading history, and its post-listing price can move violently.

I'd treat this pool as a speculative allocation—not something to put the majority of my capital into.

🟢 LAPTOP — Bigger Reward Pool, Different Risk

LAPTOP brings another interesting setup, with a large reward allocation and multiple staking choices.

The token count may look impressive, but token quantity isn't the same as dollar value.

The real test begins when LAPTOP starts trading and the market discovers its price.

3️⃣ What Actually Determines the Winner?

For me, the real opportunity isn't simply the highest APR.

I'm watching:

• How quickly each pool fills
• How rapidly APR declines
• The actual staking duration
• How rewards are distributed and released
• Whether capital remains flexible
• Post-listing liquidity and volatility
• Whether perpetual contracts become available

The first few hours could provide the best yield, but they can also carry the highest uncertainty.

4️⃣ My Strategy

I'd rather divide capital according to risk than chase one giant percentage.

I would start with XAUT, then allocate smaller amounts toward FOLD and LAPTOP using assets I already planned to hold—such as BTC, ETH, GT, or USDT.

Most importantly, I would never use money reserved for futures margin.

Why?

Because a 10% decline in the asset you're staking can erase a significant portion of the rewards you're farming.

And once the reward tokens begin trading, my futures-trader mindset kicks in: take some profit early or hedge the remaining exposure if a suitable perpetual contract becomes available.

The goal isn't to maximize the number of tokens.

The goal is to maximize risk-adjusted return.

Launchpool farming can be a smart way to generate additional yield from assets you're already holding—but “extra yield” should never be confused with “free money.”
