Weekly summary📝

Put in 1000u, preparing to scalp
Week 1️⃣: ➕212.06u, stuck to scalping with small positions—it was indeed exhausting
Week 2️⃣: ➖94.5u, the most emotional day. I still used small positions, but after getting stopped out once, I couldn't accept the loss. I doubled my position after each stop-out: after losing on 0.1 lots, I opened 0.2 lots; after losing on 0.2 lots, I opened 0.5 lots; after losing on 0.5 lots, I opened 1 lot... The day's peak was 1650u, and when my total account balance was down to just 550u, I realized I was tilting. After calming down for a while, I resumed trading and ultimately only lost 94.5u compared with Monday. It was too exhausting, so I stopped for the day and preserved Monday's profits
Week 3️⃣: ➕259.16u, although I was still scalping with small positions, I held losing trades and added to positions, which was actually quite dangerous
Week 4️⃣: ➕438.95u, the most nerve-racking day. After being stuck in a trade, I could have exited at breakeven, but I fixated on those 0.some points and refused to take profit before reaching my target, causing the trade to get stuck again. A trade opened at 2 p.m. remained stuck until 10 p.m. From an operational standpoint, it looked astonishing, but!!! I know luck was the only thing that saved me. Hedging longs and shorts (still long high and short low)—this is how I ended up liquidated in the past... I managed to reach my take-profit target, but it was mentally exhausting. In the end, I exited at breakeven... I scalped a little late at night
Week 5️⃣: ➕564.82u, I still made some money scalping. While my short trade was stuck, because the position was small, I didn't panic. I followed the trend and scalped all the way, pushing up the average entry price... Having learned from the previous lesson of not taking profit before reaching the target, I gave up some profits and closed the stuck trade. Although it eventually did reach my take-profit target... my nerves weren't constantly strained during this period, and I also scalped intermittently. I learned from my previous experience and didn't open a trade during the 20.30 nonfarm payrolls release. The volatility was too high that night and wasn't suitable for my scalping—it was too easy to get stuck in a trade. That's where I end this week.

💰This week➕1380.49u
Even though I used small positions, and even though I managed to avert danger this week in the end, I still should have followed Tuesday's stop-loss approach! Since my total account balance isn't large, I need to guard against a major one-sided move! But after a stop-loss, never chase or add to the position!!!#XAU

Getting carried away is indeed hard to avoid; that’s just how trading is.
