After spending enough time in crypto, you’ll see a painful reality clearly: many people don’t lose to the market—they lose to themselves by constantly trying to predict it.

When I first entered the industry, I was always guessing the tops and bottoms, hoping to buy at the lowest point and sell at the highest. But reality was that prices fell as soon as I entered, and rallied right after I cut my losses. My account never grew, while my mindset broke down first.

Eventually, I realized that people who can achieve stable profits rarely bet on which way the market will move.

More often, they simply wait quietly—for the price to reach their trading range, for a signal to appear, and for the risk-reward ratio to become attractive enough. If the price isn’t at the right level, they do nothing; if the signal isn’t clear, they don’t participate. Even when the entire market is saying the bull market is about to return, they still choose to stay out if they can’t see the setup clearly.

I used to fear missing out; now I fear placing random trades. There are opportunities in the market every day, but you only have one pool of capital. Missing one move won’t knock you out, but making one careless trade can wipe out months of gains.

My biggest progress over the years hasn’t been learning how many indicators to use, but learning restraint. Enter when the conditions are right, cut losses decisively when wrong, hold when right, and patiently observe when there is no opportunity.
We can’t control how the market moves, but position size, stop-losses, and trading rhythm are completely up to us.

In the end, trading isn’t about who is smarter, but who has stronger discipline. Crypto has never been short of stories about getting rich overnight; what’s rare is someone who can survive both bull and bear markets and remain at the table.

Steady account growth doesn’t necessarily come from catching how many major opportunities, but more often from avoiding a large number of trades that should never have been taken.

No matter how clear your analytical logic is, losses are inherently unavoidable in trading. All we can do is make the profits from each cycle outweigh the losses, thereby achieving long-term stable profitability.
