The market's interest in artificial intelligence has expanded further, moving beyond the largest technology companies to include a wider range of businesses. The release of Meta's personal AI agent, Muse, has increased interest in agentic AI after it reached over 2.5 million downloads within weeks of its launch. This development contributed to the Nasdaq reaching a new record high and led to sharp increases in semiconductor stocks.
Investment capital is now moving further down the AI infrastructure chain, creating distinct opportunities across different parts of the technology stack.
Key Stock Performers in September
· Intel ( $INTC ): +43.18%
Intel experienced significant growth due to stronger demand for server CPUs and inference infrastructure. This demand is driven by the increasing compute requirements of agentic AI workloads. The company also highlighted ongoing progress across enterprise and cloud AI infrastructure.
· AMD ($AMD ): +36.91%
AMD crossed the $1 trillion market value mark. The company is expanding its role beyond individual chips into complete AI CPUs, GPUs, and data-center systems.
· Arm ($ARM ): +30.46%
Arm is pushing deeper into agentic and physical AI, expanding its compute platform across cloud, edge, and autonomous systems. More than 80 companies have joined its physical-AI ecosystem.
· Hewlett Packard Enterprise ($HPE ): +25.19%
HPE reported record quarterly revenue and profit. This performance was supported by a 35% jump in server revenue and 75% growth in networking. The company also raised its 2026 and 2027 financial outlooks.
· Marvell Technology ($MRVL)+23.08%
Marvell is benefiting from the networking side of the AI buildout. Its connectivity, switching, and memory products are increasingly central to moving data between compute, storage, and memory inside large AI data centers.
Focus on AMD's Financial Performance
AMD's recent market valuation is supported by its latest quarterly results. Revenue increased by 50% year over year to a record $11.5 billion, while adjusted earnings per share rose to $1.66 from $0.48 a year earlier. Data Center revenue more than doubled to $6.7 billion, driven by demand for EPYC server processors and Instinct AI GPUs. This segment now accounts for 58% of AMD's total revenue. Management expects Data Center sales to accelerate again in the second half as EPYC demand builds, Instinct deployments scale, and its Helios AI systems begin to ramp.
Market Outlook
The common element across these companies is AI infrastructure, but their earnings exposure differs. Intel and AMD focus on processors, Arm provides architecture, HPE supplies servers and networking, and Marvell offers data-center connectivity.
The rapid growth in September has raised market expectations. AMD is increasingly being valued as a full AI systems company rather than just an alternative chip supplier, which increases the requirement for successful execution. The next test for the market is whether data-center growth can consistently translate into higher margins and earnings to support these new valuations. The next phase of the AI trade will depend less on owning the general theme and more on identifying which companies can turn higher infrastructure spending into actual revenue and earnings.#GateSquareMidAutumnReunion #usstock
