The SEC just opened a new path for tokenized stocks onchain.

Under a temporary Innovation Exemption, eligible platforms may be able to trade tokenized U.S. stocks through permissioned AMMs and liquidity pools on public blockchains for up to five years.

The key point: these tokens must represent real shareholder rights like dividends and voting rights, not just track a stock’s price.

For years, $BTC brought traditional investors into crypto. Now we may be seeing the opposite, traditional assets moving onto crypto rails.

The permissioned AMM design is quite nuanced: it needs both public-chain liquidity and compliance.

Innovation Exemption is a nice-sounding name, but in essence it is a regulatory sandbox.

BTC brings people into the market, while tokenized stocks bring assets into the market—each does its own thing.

The threshold for eligible platforms is estimated to be high, leaving smaller exchanges with no chance.

Real stocks floating in a liquidity pool—just thinking about it is surreal.
