GT Absorbed a 21.7 Million Dollar Unlock Without Breaking — That Is the Signal
GT is up roughly 18% in ten days, and almost nobody is talking about it.
This week, 21.7 million dollars of unlocked GT reached the market — and the price barely flinched.
A rally that survives its own supply test is worth a closer look.
Unlocks are announced in advance; what matters is absorption. Between September 21 and 27, roughly 1.87% of GT's circulating supply came free — about seven times the token's daily spot volume. Thin books usually crack under it. This one did not.
GT now trades near 10.70 dollars, with a 1.14 billion dollar market cap and rank #61. It is up 7.4% over seven days and 18% since September 16. After a 6.2% pullback from a weekly high of 11.41 dollars, it closed September 24 at 10.75 dollars and held above its 200-day EMA.
The structure reads constructive, not euphoric. Daily trend strength is elevated with bullish moving-average alignment, funding stays mildly positive, and open interest fell 3.4% in 24 hours — leverage is leaving, not piling in. Supply tells the longer story: more than 63% of the original 300 million GT has been burned, circulating supply sits at 106.6 million against a 142.6 million cap, and the next quarterly burn lands in October.
The counter-scenario is liquidity. Volume near 0.27% of market cap means the same thin book can amplify any sell-off. Absorption can also be delayed rather than canceled — and GT remains about 59% below its January 2025 high of 25.95 dollars, so this is recovery, not a breakout.
For now, the unlock revealed more about holders than supply. Your read: is real demand stepping in, or is the pressure simply postponed?
