CRYPTO EVENING REVIEW — 24 SEPTEMBER 2026

Market regime: 🟠 Bullish recovery structure, but macro is still fighting it
The setup has improved slightly from this morning, but I would not call the risk-off move finished yet. Bitcoin is back around $84.3K after trading near $83.8K earlier, while XRP is around $1.52. The bigger issue remains outside crypto: U.S. bond volatility has surged, the 10Y briefly reached 5.15% today, and oil has moved higher again. CoinDesk
The key narrative tonight is:
SPOT MONEY IS BUYING THE DIP — BUT BONDS ARE STILL TRYING TO BREAK THE RALLY.
That creates a very clear overnight trade: BTC needs to reclaim $85K while Treasury yields stabilise.
🌍 Global markets
Asia was mixed-to-cautious after Wednesday's violent global bond selloff. The major issue was not equities themselves but yields: investors are repricing the possibility that central banks may need to stay tighter for longer.
Europe also struggled. The STOXX 600 was down around 0.16% in the latest broad-market snapshot. Reuters
In the U.S., the picture remains weak but not disorderly. The latest Reuters snapshot had the Dow -0.37%, S&P 500 -0.23% and Nasdaq -0.51% after the Nasdaq had reached a record only Tuesday. Reuters
So risk appetite has cooled considerably in 48 hours.
📈 US 10Y — tonight's most important chart isn't BTC
The U.S. 10Y briefly reached:
5.1497%
today—the highest since 2007—before retreating toward roughly 5.11%. The 30Y briefly hit 5.446%, its highest since 2004. Reuters
Fed futures now price around a 66% probability of another hike next month, up from roughly 53% before Wednesday's strong U.S. activity data. Reuters
This is the main reason I'm not aggressively buying the crypto dip.
If the 10Y begins falling tonight while BTC remains above $83K, the crypto setup improves quickly.
If yields attack 5.15% again, I'd expect another volatility burst.
💵 Dollar / 🛢️ oil / 🥇 gold
The dollar remains firm: EUR/USD has fallen toward $1.137, while USD/JPY has pushed toward 158.8. Reuters
Oil is also working against risk assets again. Crude rose roughly 2% today as U.S.–Iran talks showed little immediate progress and markets considered possible restrictions on U.S. diesel exports. Reuters
Gold has dropped roughly 0.6% to ~$4,263, another sign that rising real yields and dollar strength are dominating even traditional defensive assets. Reuters
One potentially important development landed late today: Reuters reports U.S. and Iranian negotiators are exploring a phased agreement that could eventually reopen the Strait of Hormuz and lift the U.S. economic blockade. That's early-stage, but any genuine de-escalation could quickly hit oil prices and improve the crypto macro setup.
