Gate Is No Longer Just Expanding — It Is Building Across Multiple Financial Markets

When I look at Gate’s latest numbers, the most interesting part is not one ranking or one volume figure. It is the number of different areas developing at the same time.

According to the latest DeFiLlama snapshot, Gate currently ranks 6th among centralized exchanges in its exchange ranking framework, with approximately $7.37 billion in tracked assets. At the same time, the platform is showing around $20.95 billion in 24-hour combined trading volume, including approximately $2.36 billion in spot volume and $18.57 billion in USD perpetual volume.

Those numbers immediately show how important derivatives have become within Gate’s overall activity.

Gate’s latest snapshot also shows approximately $6.28 billion in USD perpetual open interest and around $1.87 billion in ±2% market depth. These figures provide a useful view of both trader participation and the liquidity available around the market.

But volume and liquidity are only one side of the story.

🏦 Reserves Add Another Layer

Gate’s August 2026 Transparency Report reported total reserves of approximately $8.215 billion, with an overall reserve coverage ratio of 127%.

That means the reported reserve coverage remained above the 100% benchmark.

Gate also reported:

• 22.79% BTC excess reserve ratio
• 22.05% ETH excess reserve ratio
• 111.63% combined reserve ratio for USDT, USDC, USD1 and GUSD

For me, these numbers are important because they provide measurable information rather than simply describing reserves as “large.”

There is also an interesting comparison between Gate’s reported reserves and independent tracking. DeFiLlama currently tracks around $7.37 billion in Gate assets, while Gate reports $8.215 billion in total reserves. These figures use different methodologies, so they should not be treated as identical measurements, but together they offer additional visibility into Gate’s scale.

🌍 A Much Broader Asset Footprint

DeFiLlama’s latest data also shows Gate’s assets distributed across multiple networks, including approximately:

$3.41B on Ethereum
$1.55B on Bitcoin
$730M on BSC
$475M on Solana
Nearly $200M on Dogecoin

That multi-chain footprint highlights how broad the ecosystem has become.

And Gate’s expansion is not limited to crypto assets.

Its August report stated that the stock offering exceeded 12,800 assets, including approximately 300 newly added Japanese stocks. CFD coverage reached around 680 trading pairs, while overall TradFi coverage exceeded 1,000 assets.

Gate also reported more than 360 underlying assets in stock derivatives and 408 ETF trading pairs, with ETF trading volume reaching around $20 billion.

📈 Growth Across Different Business Lines

Another part that stands out is the growth across different products.

Gate reported:

Event Contract trading volume: +286.09% month-on-month
Perp DEX API trading volume: +134%
Institutional CrossEx deposits: +143%
GUSD: reached an all-time high of $257 million
Simple Earn: added 23 new projects

These are completely different categories, yet each shows increased activity.

Gate’s August report also cited approximately $9.5 billion in combined spot and derivatives trading volume during the referenced period, ranking third globally in that comparison. Open interest reached $12.48 billion, while approximately $308.1 million in 30-day net inflows placed Gate second among major platforms in that comparison.

Of course, crypto metrics can change rapidly because markets operate 24/7. But the broader development is worth watching.

🪙 And Then There Is GT

The latest DeFiLlama snapshot shows GT around $9.95, although the price changes continuously.

What interests me more than the exact price is GT’s role within the wider ecosystem. As Gate continues expanding its markets, products, infrastructure and user activity, GT remains an important part of the platform’s broader ecosystem.

The bigger picture is therefore much larger than a 6th-place ranking.

It includes:

$7.37B+ tracked assets
$20.95B 24-hour trading volume
$6.28B perpetual open interest
$1.87B ±2% market depth
$8.215B reported reserves
127% overall reserve coverage
12,800+ stock assets
1,000+ TradFi assets
$20B ETF trading volume
Rapidly growing institutional and on-chain activity

For me, that combination tells a broader story.

Gate is connecting crypto, derivatives, stocks, ETFs, tokenized assets, earning products, institutional services and multi-chain infrastructure inside one expanding ecosystem.

The current ranking is only a snapshot.

The more important question is what happens next as Gate continues developing across all these markets simultaneously.

More markets. More liquidity. More products. More infrastructure. More transparency.

That is the part of Gate’s journey I will be watching most closely. 🚀
