GATE’S STOCK PERPETUAL SURGE IS ONLY ONE PART OF A MUCH BIGGER STORY

When I look at Gate’s latest development, the number that immediately catches my attention is the 308% month-on-month increase in stock perpetual trading volume.

But I think focusing only on that number misses the bigger picture.

What is happening on Gate is a much broader transition toward a multi-asset trading ecosystem, where crypto, stocks, ETFs, CFDs, equity derivatives, RWA products, options and on-chain markets are increasingly being brought together under one platform.

That is the part of Gate’s expansion that interests me most.

308% GROWTH — AND THREE CONSECUTIVE MONTHS OF TRIPLE-DIGIT EXPANSION

According to Gate’s August Transparency Report, stock perpetual trading volume increased approximately 308% month-on-month, marking the third consecutive month of triple-digit growth.

The reported growth sequence is particularly interesting:

May: +131%
June: +177%
July: +308%

Gate also cited CryptoQuant data showing approximately $15 billion in stock perpetual trading volume.

For me, the significance is not simply that volume increased once. The important point is the acceleration across several consecutive months.

It suggests that equity-linked perpetual products are becoming a much more active part of the trading ecosystem.

FROM NVDA AND TSLA TO SPY AND MSTR

Gate’s stock perpetual ecosystem includes exposure linked to some of the most closely watched names in global markets, including NVDA, TSLA, AAPL, META, GOOGL, COIN, MSTR and SPY.

These instruments sit at the intersection of technology, artificial intelligence, crypto, institutional finance and global macro.

That creates an interesting connection.

A trader who already understands crypto perpetuals can now study equity-linked markets through a familiar trading environment, while traditional-market exposure becomes increasingly integrated into a crypto-native ecosystem.

12,800+ STOCK ASSETS SHOW THIS IS MUCH BIGGER THAN PERPETUALS

The expansion does not stop with derivatives.

Gate reported that its spot stock coverage exceeded 12,800 assets, including around 300 Japanese stocks introduced through its initial Tokyo Stock Exchange rollout.

The platform also reported 680 CFD trading pairs and more than 1,000 TradFi assets overall, while equity derivatives covered more than 360 underlying assets.

This tells me that Gate is building several layers of financial-market access rather than concentrating on a single product.

And there is already measurable activity behind this expansion.

Gate reported that cumulative equity trading volume surpassed $2 billion.

RWA PRODUCTS ARE ADDING ANOTHER DIMENSION

Another development worth watching is Gate’s RWA perpetual market.

According to CryptoRank data cited in the transparency report, Gate’s RWA perpetual open interest reached approximately $378.8 million, representing around 49.6% of the global centralized-exchange market share in that segment.

So the story is becoming broader:

Crypto → Stocks → ETFs → CFDs → Equity Derivatives → RWA Markets

These products are increasingly being connected inside one ecosystem.

THE SCALE OF THE CORE PLATFORM MATTERS TOO

Gate’s stock expansion is happening alongside significant activity across its wider trading platform.

DefiLlama data cited in Gate’s August report showed approximately $9.5 billion in combined 24-hour spot and derivatives trading volume, with open interest around $12.48 billion, both ranking among the global Top 3 in the cited data.

Gate also recorded approximately $308.1 million in 30-day net capital inflows, ranking second among major platforms according to the cited figures.

Meanwhile, Gate reported:

- +36.6% month-on-month growth in options trading volume
- +286.09% in Event Contract trading volume
- +134% in Perp DEX API volume
- +21% in institutional spot trading volume
- +143% growth in assets deposited through CrossEx

These numbers show that the platform’s expansion is happening across multiple directions simultaneously.

TRANSPARENCY REMAINS PART OF THE STORY

Gate’s August transparency data also reported approximately $8.215 billion in total reserves and an overall reserve ratio of 127%.

The reported excess reserve ratios for BTC and ETH were approximately 22.79% and 22.05%, respectively.

For me, these figures provide useful context when looking at the platform’s broader expansion, because product growth, trading activity and financial transparency all form part of the same picture.

MY TAKE

The real story behind #GateTopsStockPerpetualCoverage is not just the 308% growth figure.

It is the direction behind it.

Gate is moving toward a model where traders can increasingly explore crypto, global equities, ETFs, CFDs, derivatives, RWA markets and other financial products through one connected ecosystem.

The numbers show how quickly that strategy is developing:

308% stock perpetual growth.
12,800+ spot stock assets.
$2B+ cumulative equity volume.
$9.5B approximately in combined daily spot and derivatives volume.
$12.48B open interest.
$308.1M in 30-day net capital inflows.

For me, this is what makes Gate’s evolution worth watching.

The future of trading may increasingly be about connecting different markets rather than keeping them separated — and Gate is clearly building toward that multi-asset direction.
