SoftBank is turning to the bond market to finance its growing AI investments.

The company has launched more than $11 billion in senior unsecured bonds, with a significant portion of the proceeds expected to support its next $10 billion investment in OpenAI.

The deal includes dollar- and euro-denominated bonds and ranks among SoftBank’s largest debt offerings.

It highlights how major investors are increasingly using traditional financing to fund large-scale bets on the AI sector.

SoftBank’s growing commitment to OpenAI also shows how much capital is being deployed behind the next phase of AI infrastructure and development.

The bigger question is how these massive AI investments will translate into long-term returns.
