MSTR Tops Nasdaq 100 and Reclaims Its Title as the Market's High-Beta Leader

Strategy Inc., trading as MSTR, is back on top of the Nasdaq 100. After months of volatility, the stock just printed the best performance in the entire index over the past month, surging 48% and leading the Nasdaq 100 gainers list intraday with moves of 7% and 4.8% on separate sessions.

It is a striking reversal and a reminder of why MSTR has become the most watched proxy for Bitcoin exposure inside traditional markets.

1. Best Performer in the Nasdaq 100

TradingView and Nasdaq data flagged MSTR as the top-performing component of the Nasdaq 100 over the last 30 days, up 48% while the broader index was flat to slightly higher. On several days it topped the daily movers list, trading up more than 9% and 11% to lead all gainers, ahead of mega-cap tech.

Year-to-date, the stock has also ranked second on the Nasdaq 100 Component Returns list, surpassing Meta, Netflix, and Nvidia in that window, and registering a 15% gain at one point in the period. In the Bitcoin Standard era since the company adopted its Bitcoin treasury strategy, the stock has delivered a cumulative return of over 3,500%.

2. Why MSTR Moves Like This

MSTR is not trading like a software company anymore. The market treats it as a leveraged play on digital asset momentum. When Bitcoin breaks out, MSTR amplifies the move. When it corrects, MSTR feels it harder. That high-beta profile is exactly why it can top the Nasdaq 100 during risk-on phases and also why it finished 2025 as the worst performer in the index during the crypto winter when Bitcoin fell from around 124,000 to 84,000.

This dual nature is driven by Michael Saylor's Bitcoin-centric treasury approach. By holding a massive Bitcoin reserve and continuously adding exposure, Strategy has turned its equity into an institutional gateway to crypto. For investors who cannot or will not hold spot directly, MSTR has become the liquid alternative inside a regulated equity ticker.

3. What the Comeback Signals

The current surge is more than a short squeeze. Three factors are converging:

Institutional flows returning: As Nasdaq 100 leadership rotates back toward high-growth and crypto-linked names, passive and active funds are forced to increase exposure to top movers.

Balance sheet optics improving: The key valuation metric for the company, enterprise net asset value, had approached negative territory in late 2025, raising concerns. The rebound in underlying holdings has restored that buffer.

Risk appetite: With bond yields stabilizing and crude-driven inflation fears easing, traders are again willing to pay a premium for convexity. MSTR offers that convexity in a way few other large-cap Nasdaq names can.

For now, MSTR is once again doing what it does best: leading the Nasdaq 100 when momentum is strong and reminding Wall Street that a Bitcoin treasury can outperform even the most dominant names in tech when the cycle turns.$NAS100
