Behind MSTR’s lead: Is Bitcoin becoming increasingly “Americanized”?
Looking at MSTR’s recent performance against the broader market backdrop reveals an increasingly interesting phenomenon: Bitcoin’s correlation with US equity market capital is becoming tighter.
Strategy currently holds approximately 845,000 BTC, making it a representative company among corporate Bitcoin holders worldwide. The latest disclosure in mid-September showed that the company did not continue buying or selling BTC that week, leaving its holdings at 845,050 BTC.
Even without increasing its holdings, MSTR’s share price still fluctuates as the market reprices BTC’s future price, risk appetite, and capital structure. In other words, the market is no longer trading merely on “how many coins the company has bought,” but on expectations for the entire Bitcoin balance-sheet model.
Recently, the Nasdaq rebounded on the back of technology stocks, the semiconductor sector recovered significantly, and crypto-related stocks also rose. This correlation among risk assets has once again made MSTR a high-beta asset in the spotlight for capital. #Gate广场中秋团圆局 + #MSTR领涨纳指100
However, the relationship between MSTR and BTC is not a simple 1:1 one. The company has debt, preferred stock, and cash reserves, and can also raise funds through the capital markets, meaning its share price may deviate from the value of its BTC assets over the long term.
That is also what makes MSTR most interesting: it is both like a stock and a financial reflection of BTC.
So what is truly worth watching next is not only whether MSTR can continue to lead, but whether the correlation among BTC, US technology stocks, and MSTR will strengthen further.
If this capital flow remains in place, MSTR may continue to serve as an important window into shifts in sentiment across the “US equities + crypto market.”
