AI stocks are active again, but the one truly worth watching may not be the “hottest” one
This time, market sentiment surrounding the AI sector’s rebound is noticeably more relaxed than it was a few days ago.
On September 17, all three major U.S. stock indexes rose, with the Nasdaq gaining 1.69%; meanwhile, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 3.14%, Arm gained more than 8%, AMD rose more than 6%, and Nvidia gained more than 2%.
Judging solely by the market action, the AI sector does indeed appear to be starting up again.
But the issue is this: a rally needs a catalyst to begin, while its continuation requires fundamentals.
The biggest story in the AI industry has now shifted from “Does AI have a future?” to “Can AI investment continue to generate returns?” As long as capital expenditures by major technology companies continue to grow, demand for computing power, networking, storage, and data center infrastructure will remain; conversely, if capital expenditures slow significantly, AI sector valuations will once again come under pressure.
If I had to choose one stock to follow closely, I would focus on Tempus AI.
Unlike traditional AI chip stocks, this company is more focused on AI + healthcare. Tempus AI’s share price rose 15% in a single day recently and gained 36% over the past five trading days. Company management also expects its cancer-testing business to potentially generate substantial medical-insurance-related revenue in the future.
Of course, growth stocks of this type are usually more volatile, and business growth cannot simply be equated with a guaranteed rise in the share price.
But from a thematic perspective, AI is gradually spreading from chips and servers into industries such as healthcare, finance, and software.
So what I am more interested in is not whether AI can continue to rise, but where AI’s profits will flow in the next phase.#美股AI概念股全线反弹 + #Gate广场中秋团圆局
