The stock perpetuals market enters an expansion phase—why is Gate moving so fast?
If the crypto market in 2026 is compared to a trading skyscraper under continuous expansion, stock perpetuals may be the floor that has suddenly accelerated construction recently.
Gate is clearly increasing its focus on this sector.
The latest data shows that as of September 7, the number of stock-related perpetual contracts on Gate reached 385, ranking first in the industry by coverage. Meanwhile, the average daily trading volume of stock perpetual contracts was approximately $1.15 billion, and the average open interest was approximately $738 million, both ranking among the top three in the industry.
More importantly, Gate’s stock perpetual trading volume is not growing statically.
Gate’s August transparency report showed that stock perpetual trading volume increased 308% month-over-month and maintained triple-digit growth for three consecutive months. Related CryptoQuant data also shows that Gate’s stock perpetual trading volume grew significantly compared with April.
The logic behind this is actually not difficult to understand.
The traditional stock market has a massive asset pool, while crypto traders are already accustomed to 7×24-hour trading, flexible leverage, and global markets. When stock assets are combined with crypto trading infrastructure, users gain not just more assets to trade, but a trading method different from that offered by traditional brokers.
Of course, perpetual contracts themselves are high-risk derivatives, and leverage amplifies both gains and losses. Liquidity data also changes with market conditions.
But from a product trend perspective, stocks + ETFs + RWA + crypto assets are gradually forming a new multi-asset trading framework.
Gate’s coverage of 385 stock perpetuals may be just one interim milestone in this asset-integration process.
What is truly worth continuing to watch is which traditional financial assets it can bring into the world of crypto trading next.
