Stock Tokenization: It’s About Making Ownership More Flexible

The next big step in tokenization may not be creating more assets.

It may be making existing assets easier to access and use.

Think about what tokenized stocks could potentially bring:

→ Fractional ownership for smaller investors
→ 24/7 accessibility beyond traditional market hours
→ Faster settlement through blockchain infrastructure
→ Programmable ownership using smart contracts
→ Global connectivity between traditional and digital finance

But there’s an important detail:

Technology alone doesn’t create a better market.

Liquidity, regulation, custody, investor protections, and reliable infrastructure still matter.

That’s why I see stock tokenization as a long-term infrastructure shift, not simply another crypto narrative.

The token is only the format.
The real question is what the new rails can enable.

The final sentence really hits the nail on the head: token is just a format; the real value lies in what use cases the new infrastructure can unlock. The RWA sector indeed needs more of this pragmatic perspective, rather than simply hyping concepts.

24/7 trading + instant settlement is incredibly attractive for cross-border capital. But until custody and compliance frameworks catch up, institutional capital will find it difficult to enter at scale. Let’s patiently wait for the infrastructure.

Can small retail investors finally buy $TSLA fractionally? It sounds appealing, but fragmented liquidity could instead lead to higher slippage, so it depends on how the market-making mechanism is designed.
