Revolut Hackers Reportedly Demand $3M in Monero

Hackers reportedly demanded $3 million in Monero (XMR) from Revolut and threatened to sell customer data if the ransom was not paid within 24 hours.

The group reportedly claimed it targeted customers with significant crypto holdings.

However, Revolut has said it did not receive a direct ransom demand from the attackers.

The incident highlights why protecting personal data is just as important as securing crypto assets.

Monero is taking the blame again; whenever hackers demand a ransom, they specifically name XMR. Privacy coins just can’t shake the blame.

Revolut says it didn’t receive the funds—was it extorted directly? Who was the hacker negotiating with, an intermediary?
