CLARITY Bill Stalls, Regulatory Clarity Will Have to Wait

The US Senate failed to advance the CLARITY bill on September 15. The procedural vote ended with 49 votes in favor and 50 against, falling well short of the 60-vote threshold required to advance the bill. The bill had aimed to establish a more complete regulatory framework for the digital asset market and further clarify the regulatory boundaries between the SEC and CFTC in the crypto market.
Following the news, the crypto market experienced significant volatility, with Bitcoin briefly falling below $76k and crypto-related stocks also coming under pressure.
However, this does not mean that US crypto regulation has come to a standstill. Existing regulators can still advance relevant rules under their existing authority, and the bill itself could be resubmitted and subject to further negotiations. For the market, the key issue to watch is whether subsequent negotiations can resolve disputes over ethics, banking competition, and regulatory authority. #Gate广场中秋团圆局 + #CLARITY法案未获通过
