Post

Been through enough market cycles to know that pre-FOMC jitters are usually more about narrative than actual liquidity shifts. Tomorrow at 6:00 PM UTC, all eyes are on the Fed again.

With August CPI printing at 3.4% YoY, markets are already pricing in nearly a 90% chance of a 25 bps hike. Honestly, the headline rate matters less right now. What I’m watching closest is the dot plot and whatever Powell drops during the press conference at 6:30. Are they signaling a pause, or are we looking at more tightening down the road?

Every time a macro event like this hits, the initial wick is usually a trap. BTC, gold, and equities always do a little dance before the market figures out where the real money is flowing.
Curious how everyone’s playing this one. Are you sitting tight in stables, or looking to trade the post-announcement volatility?

The dot plot is the real star tonight; the interest rate itself is no longer much of a surprise.

I’m going straight into stables; this volatility isn’t worth betting on.

Gold and BTC have risen and fallen together over the past six months; the macro narrative has indeed held all risk assets hostage.

First Review
Before every FOMC, people say this time is different, but the result is always the same: a wick, then a return.
