TODAY COULD BE HUGE FOR CRYPTO.
Today at 2:15 PM, the US Senate is expected to vote on the CLARITY Act.
And honestly, this is bigger than just another crypto bill.
If it gets the 60 votes needed to move forward, the US could take a major step toward finally defining how digital assets should be regulated.
Here’s where things get interesting.
Republicans have 53 Senate seats, meaning they need at least 7 Democrats to support moving the bill forward.
That support was not locked in as of Friday.
Senators have reportedly been negotiating through the weekend, with Sen. Lummis adding more than 120 provisions requested by Democrats.
One of the more interesting changes is a new “circuit breaker” designed to give regulators a way to respond if stablecoins start putting pressure on community banks.
There are also ethics provisions that would require certain officials to sell their crypto holdings or place them in a blind trust.
And this isn't starting from zero.
The House already passed its version of the CLARITY Act 294-134 back in July 2025.
But there’s an important detail many people are missing:
Tomorrow is NOT the final step.
A Senate vote to advance the bill would only move the process forward. The House and Senate would still need to agree on identical legislation before it can reach President Trump.
So why does tomorrow matter so much?
Because crypto has spent years operating in a regulatory grey area in the US.
A clear framework could change how exchanges, token issuers, investors and institutions operate.
It could also give the CFTC a much larger role in overseeing digital assets.
If the bill moves forward, the market will probably start pricing in what clearer regulation could mean.
If it fails, that doesn't automatically kill the bill.
But with the midterm elections getting closer, the political window gets smaller.
So I’m watching the Senate tomorrow very closely.
Not because one vote magically changes crypto overnight.
But because it could tell us whether the US is finally ready to build a real regulatory framework for this industry.
September 15 could be one of those dates crypto traders look back on later and say:
“Yeah, that was important.”
What do you think?
CLARITY Act passes the Senate, or another delay?
