Bitcoin $BTC is trading around $78,500 – $79,000, consolidating inside a tight multi week channel after a massive ~24% surge through August. Price action has oscillated just below the stubborn $80,000–$82,000 resistance ceiling.

$77,000 – $78,000: Immediate structural floor that has repeatedly absorbed selling pressure.
$75,500: The crucial short term moving average and pivot line. Losing this risks a deeper pullback toward the 200-day EMA near $72,800.

$80,000 – $82,000: The primary macro barrier. A high volume daily and weekly close above $82,000 is required to invalidate the range bound chop and open the path toward $85,000+.

Only a weekly close above $82K counts; there are too many false breakouts on the daily chart.

It has been hovering around 78 for two weeks. Both bulls and bears are exhausted—please pick a direction soon.

This channel is getting narrower and narrower, with volatility compressed to the extreme. It feels like a major move is coming soon.

The $80k hurdle is really tough to clear—every time it surges above, it gets knocked back down. Let’s wait for a breakout on increased volume.
