I increasingly feel that,

What truly makes a person strong is whether you dare to go long on yourself.
Whether you believe it or not,
I believe going long on yourself is always a very simple and efficient investment.
And you can achieve an exceptionally high rate of return with no risk at all.
For example, when many people encounter problems, their first reaction is to seek help externally.
They want to find a benefactor,
a good opportunity,
or someone who can change their fate.
But later you will discover that
the only person who can truly stay with you to the very end is yourself.
So instead of constantly seeking outward,
it is better to start seeking inward.
Improve your abilities a little,
get your body in better shape,
read a few more books,
experience a few more things,
learn to manage your emotions,
and learn to take responsibility for your choices.
Only when you become strong yourself will you have the best support.
Moreover, “going long on yourself” does not require starting with anything earth-shattering.
You can start with very small things.
Keep exercising every week,
build more upward connections,
learn a foreign language.
Every time you fulfill a promise to yourself, you are essentially adding to your position.
Gradually, you will discover:
Confidence is not something others praise you into having,
but something that grows after you fulfill your promises to yourself time and time again.
First, become the best version of yourself.
Because as you grow stronger,
many of the problems that once troubled you
will naturally cease to be problems.
In this investment called life, I strongly recommend that you always go long on yourself.

After reading this, I suddenly realized something: I used to think “confidence” was the result, but now I see it’s actually a process. The more often you fulfill your promises, the more naturally your inner conviction grows. Going long on yourself is essentially forging a hard asset that cannot be taken away.

That’s put very clearly. Many people spend their whole lives waiting for a benefactor, yet forget to first become someone worth investing in. Exercising every week, reading, and learning a foreign language—these small things add up to compound growth.

Indeed, looking within is better than seeking outward; you are your own greatest leverage.
