#SandiskSurges14%OnNewFinancialFramework

SanDisk became a major focus in the memory-storage sector after its shares jumped 13.7% to $1,528.11 on August 13, following the company's 2026 Investor Day and the release of an ambitious long-term financial framework.

The new framework targets mid-to-high-teens annual revenue growth from fiscal 2028 through 2030, while management expects adjusted gross margins to remain around 80% and adjusted operating margins around 75%. The company also expects adjusted free-cash-flow margins of approximately 50%.

One of the biggest catalysts is SanDisk's expanding relationship with large customers. The company has secured new-business-model agreements with eight customers, including three major U.S. hyperscale data-center companies. These agreements reportedly represent about two-thirds of expected FY2028 memory bits, providing greater visibility into future demand and potentially reducing the traditional volatility of the NAND business.

AI infrastructure is another major part of the growth story. As data centers handle increasingly demanding AI workloads, demand for high-capacity storage continues to increase. SanDisk is also developing High Bandwidth Flash (HBF), a technology positioned between traditional NAND and DRAM that could create another opportunity in AI computing.

Management additionally announced plans to return 100% of excess cash to shareholders after necessary business investment. Combined with strong projected margins and long-term customer commitments, this helped investors view SanDisk as more than a traditional cyclical memory company.

Still, expectations are now extremely high. Memory pricing, supply expansion, AI infrastructure spending, customer concentration, and successful execution will remain important risks.

Overall, it highlights how AI is transforming the economics of the global storage and memory industry.
