GT is more than just Gate’s exchange token.

It sits at the center of the Gate ecosystem, powering GateChain and serving as a key utility and gas asset.

What makes the tokenomics interesting is the ongoing burn mechanism.

In Q2 2026 alone, 2.57M+ GT was burned, bringing cumulative burns to approximately 189.95M GT from the original 300M supply.

That means over 63% of the initial supply has already been removed.

At the same time, GT continues expanding its role across Gate’s broader trading and Web3 ecosystem.

Utility + ecosystem growth + sustained supply reduction.

That combination makes GT one of the exchange tokens worth keeping on the radar.

Honestly, I used to be pretty indifferent to exchange tokens, but GT’s burn pace has something to it: nearly 190 million tokens have been burned cumulatively after two years, leaving less than 40% of the supply, while its ecosystem continues expanding into Web3. This deflationary, application-driven dual-driver logic is relatively solid among its peers.

63% burned already? This supply contraction is indeed massive.

GT is more than just Gate’s platform token—it is indispensable for gas and on-chain activity, and with real funds used for quarterly burns, its scarcity is becoming increasingly evident. It’s worth taking a closer look.
